After a morning to ourselves, we started the afternoon by boarding the bus and heading off to . We learned a bit about Peruvian government and got to see where the many political parties’ congress people meet. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our group leaders, we were even able to meet two congresswomen who shared about their work and answered some of our questions.
Next we walked to the Museo Afro-Peruano. Slavery was a big part of the tour, but religious miracles and musical instruments also played a prominent role. When we finished there, we took a brief trip to the Plaza Mayor where we explored. Many of us gorged on free samples at the Museo de Cacao. Finally, we ended the outing with a bus ride home filled with road trip games and fellowship.
